With it's origins in the Toyota Production System and Lean Manufacturing,
the Kanban software development process is rapidly gaining visibility as another tool in the agile practitioner's toolbox.
This will be an interactive presentation in which we move a sample project side-by-side through Scrum and Kanban processes to give attendees a feel for how a Kanban flow might be able to help your project become more lean. Presented by Nayan Hajratwala and Aimme Keener.
Nayan's background includes software development, architecture, business analysis, and project management. In all of these roles, he has been a of coach and mentor of Agile practices and principles. Most recently, Nayan has become involved in the Lean Software and Software Craftsmanship movements - both of which promise to elevate the level of quality and value that software teams can deliver. Nayan's company, Chikli Consulting LLC, provides coaching and development services to clients across the country.
Aimme has been a software developer in the Detroit metro area for the past twelve years. She caught the agile bug three years ago and has been adding practices that help meet agile principles to her toolkit ever since. Aimme is an avid reader and follower of anything agile. You will find her at most Michigan Agile Enthusiasts and local Code Retreat events. Currently, Aimme is a software developer at Gale Cengage in Farmington Hills.
